Impala While undergoing many facelifts in its history, the Impala has proved itself to both civilians and police forces as one of the most capable 4-door cars GM has ever offered. Currently moving towards its 10th generation the Impala is one of the longest lasting and popular models.

The apps in advertisement is impala with Navigation as the weather app and traffic and showtimes are provided by travel link with xm radio. I think its silly as most impalas do not have Nav and my local dealer ordered LTZ models with no navigation. Be nice if app market would come to 14 impala as you don't need 4lte service for apps. It could be as simple as loading flash drive in car and putting apps in that way and using them with your mobile device.

I've saw a video on youtube with an "Email" app. I'm sure it was for 2014 Impala as the videos were early 2013.

Nice find on that text/email app, impy. Don't imagine that will ever see the light of day.

Really the only things I want are the weather features and stuff that I can maintain with XM. The supposed inability to upgrade and potential lack of anything new for our myLink system is a disappointment, but not that big a deal for me. I certainly wish more apps, or any apps really, were available. I can understand and see how other people might be a bit more upset though, especially if the ability to upgrade the apps and system were selling-points for the car. I imagine I would be upset if the new car I bought was supposed to do something and was then told it couldn't do it.

But really, we haven't been told that nothing could be done with the current myLink system, have we? It seems to be implied I guess. I mean, we were told that the new 4G stuff and app market would not available for the '14 and it seems like "iOS in the Car" will only happen in new vehicles. But has there been an announcement stating that no upgrades will happen for the 2014 and that the "new" myLink is already DOA? I don't think there has (unless I missed it) and that is what frustrates me out of the whole thing, is that there has been no word about it. An official GM rep months ago said in response to questions someone asked about iOS in the Car said "We will do our best to keep you updated when this information is released." I guess telling us '14 owners anything isn't really a priority if none of it is too good of news.

Like I said, the lack of updates or new apps isn't a major deal to me but it did leave me feeling a bit disappointed. The whole thing just has me wondering what myLink was winning awards for at CES last year.

If u check USA today article GM states that apps are for 2015 impala only owners of 2014 impala are out of luck. I didn't buy GM nav system as it was not offered in 2lt with moonroof when the cars first came out oh well. I can get weather updates through onstar virtual advisor just shame the weather app cant be added through onstar as u can get it through virtual advisor

This review says it's a hacked up Cadillac Cue system.

well one will see if more items are added. You have to remember some of the LT models in the video have navigation. I didn't purchase that as when cars first came out navigation was not available with moonroof at same time. Most impalas have no navigation period. I recently went to a dealer and they are now ordering the 2LTZ with no options or just comfort and conv. package and no bose system and no nav as so many people use phone or garmin or onstar. Now again if more apps come out well see as on 4lte information its only for 15 models with APP market and GM said that 14 models would have no APP market. When that review came in that you have maybe be oversees only as 4lte may not be big in that country or it came out early on before 4tle was announced and it was noted that 14 models were not capaible. I think a GM rep needs to clear this up once and for all.
