if you have water in your trunk, take it in and they will fix it right away letter or no letter.
I have better things to do than post gm licenced material without their permission.

Went in just now to get the seat button fixed (that I posted about in my oil change thread) and they were busy so I will take it in later. On a whim when I got home I decided to check the trunk since it rained last night. Under the matted liner it was completely soaked. So I guess I'll be calling in a little bit for that.

Can you compare your before and after with the pictures I posted? Thanks.

I won't get to see an 'after' until next week I guess. They are swamped today and the main guy showed me the report on his computer, it's telling him to remove a bunch of paneling and spray water on it to verify where it is coming from and then it listed two different numbers for them to call and reach GM engineers. It said that engineers are still gathering info and trying to figure out the root cause, so he said he needs to follow the steps and it will take some time. I'm calling Monday I guess to see how their schedule looks that day, probably take pics this weekend and then after so I can compare them. I mentioned that people online have been saying their dealerships have been getting into the tail lights and replacing gaskets, but these guys aren't familiar with the problem at all (they actually have sold a couple since I bought mine I found out, so I guess I am not the only guy around that has one, but no one else must have noticed the problem yet).

It just sucks because tomorrow it is supported to absolutely pour rain all day.
At least the button on my seat is getting fixed now. I will finally be able to tilt the front of the seat up and down... I can't believe it but I am actually really excited about having that function work now.

I just dropped my car off to get some work done on that problem with the seat (they have two new parts to try, to include some memory module, which is great because the auto-recall for driver one stopped working since the last time I took it in on Fri). They asked if I wanted a rental or a ride home and I asked if that meant they were gonna work on that troubleshooting for the trunk too. They said that they pulled up the TSB before but there is actually a recall now, dated 27 Feb I think, for replacing those gaskets. So if they have them in stock, they'll get replaced.
I am a little worried about how often that inside may have gotten wet though. I need to open it later and see if it has a strong mildew smell or not, see if the trunk interior is what I would call 'ruined' and then inquire about what my options are with that.
My car problems aren't over there though. Someone bashed their car door into my rear passenger door at some point and my wife noticed it yesterday and brought it to my attention. Slight dent and two rough spots where white paint was deposited or some of my paint was possibly taken off? Anyway, I showed a guy at the dealership and he said they have a guy next door who does body work and that they could either drive my car over there or ask him to come over and look when it was done, and then estimate what it would take to fix. Pretty aggravating, especially so because I think it was one of my neighbors in my apartment complex.

Anyway, the point of another lengthy post from me was to state that it isn't just a TSB now, but an actual recall I guess that came out at the end of Feb. Or at least that is what I was told.

Hey Everyone,

I am sorry to hear you are having a water leakage concern. We can certainly look into this along with your Chevrolet dealership. Please private message me your name, VIN, phone number, and dealership name. I look forward to hearing from you.

Checked my trunk today, my spare tire holder is filling with water and my trunk mats are moldy. I meticulously clean my cars and have been wiping out my trunk weekly so I never noticed. After two weeks of not visiting the car wash and a couple of days of rain my trunk is a MESS. Definitely visiting my dealer ASAP.

Finally got my letter from Chevy for the tail light gaskets.

I guess that explains why I failed my leak test.

18 Apr 2014 10 am Dropped my car at the dealer this morning, they kept the car for 6 hours. I got it back and the trunk carpet was clean. The tech vacuumed the carpet and no one bothered to look in the spare tire well. When I opened the panel the well still had water in it, the bottom of the panel was still moldy, and everything was still wet. They replaced the seals on my taillights, It still seems like there is water getting in. The manager has ordered all of the panels for my trunk because of the mold and is replacing my jack and tool kit as well because my jack is rusted so bad it's unusable, the car is 4 months old. The dealer is trying to be helpful, but this is a factory defect. I took my car in two weeks ago and they didn't want to touch the car, got a recall letter in the mail yesterday and took it in this morning. We'll see how well this works out, it's been raining two days non stop. If I get more water in my trunk tonight then I will know it's all BS.
