Chevrolet dealership scammed me
First off I’d like to say I’ve had this car for a little over 4 years and have done all the required maintenance on time every time, it’s winter here where I live so the last time I needed some fluids changed I didn’t want to do it outside in the cold as I do not have a garage at my current residence. So I thought id bring my car into the Chevy dealership seeing as it is a Chevrolet vehicle I thought they’d be best to handle it. So I go there and ask for an all fluids change (oil transmission, coolant) and the service advisor said no problem, of course upsold me on some kind of engine cleaner that I could’ve bought at an auto zone for $15 they charged me another $200, fine. What gets me though is I spent over $800 for a job that should have taken less than a day took them 3 days to get it back to me. I take delivery of my car and had to get to work right after. I get out of work and am driving home and notice my temp. Gauge is going up so I pull over and check the fluids. My coolant is bone dry, and my oil looks just as dirty as when I brought my vehicle in. I call them and they say it’s an honest mistake and to just bring it back and they’ll top it off. I don’t trust them after this so I did it myself, fast forward maybe a month and a half and now my car is having engine knocks and I’m furious. They’ve scammed me out of hard earned money and didn’t even complete the job and now I’m going to have to pay even bigger money probably to get this noise fixed. To top it all off this is my daily driver that I need to go to work every day. I don’t know why I trusted the coorperation dealership to do the proper job but never again will I. I’ve tried to contact them multiple times only to be put on hold and then hung up on so now I’m feeling like I need to hire a lawyer or contact the general attorneys office so I don’t get screwed out of my whole vehicle because a service advisor and a few techs at Chevy were too lazy to do their job. What should I do?
Welcome from Florida. Did you speak to the service manager or the general manager at the dealership? You can also call Chevrolet customer service, there is a slight chance that they will help you. Do you have any paperwork to verify that you spoke to them right away to report the problem? Unfortunately they will have a different story to discredit your claim.
Dealerships ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,some good and others ,,,,,,,well not so good
We would like to think they appreciate our business, but some have the same problems as does other businesses. Can't get good qualified help !!!
Having worked for a dealership a few moons ago, the Service Dept kept the dealership above water when new car sales were way down.
You can get your vehicle messed up just about anywhere , but we would like to think the manufacturer tries to keep them honest. Unfortunately, a lot of dealerships are individual businesses and get run the way the management chooses. To go the legal route will cost some and hopefully you have documented everything. You might consult with an attorney for advice.

speak to the dealer principle. go in person. don't yell or scream or get mad. Layout the details. If they don't give you the answers you want you can always lawyer up later. if you go that route....you need another shop to find out what the fault is.
