Default Hey!

Hey guys, im new on the forum. I have some questions about my 2004 impala, 3.4. I'm wondering if any one knows of a good turbo kit I can get specifically for it? Also I would like a cold air intake. I'm looking to make it as fast as possible, I dont want to spend over $5000.00. Please make some recommendations, they will be greatly appreciated. I'll be happy to post pics if all goes well.

For your other questions, I bet HotSauce6226 could help you out with that. He knows a lot about Impala upgrades.

For 5k your limited if your talking turbo, bc that would maybe cover just that and thats all, you need supporting mods first.
As far as intakes, id do a fender well intake. you can make ur own actually...
Cold Air Intake Kits:

-Homemade FWI (fenderwell intake) How-To:
http://home.centurytel.net/grandprix/fwi/

-NAIOA FWI:
NAIOA shop is currently not selling these, but we are working out getting them back in the store. Expect them before the end of 2008.

-MMS FWI:
www.MilzyMotorSports.com

-ZZP WizAired Intake:
http://www.zzperformance.com/g.....;catid=113
Make sure to specify that it is for the 3.4L
WizAir Install Instructions: http://www.easyperformance.com....._Rev_B.pdf

Reminder: When installing a FWI, you will need to secure the PCM to the car's frame so it wont move around. You can either use ZipTies for this or grab yourself a PCM Tray. GM Part #: 15995679
You will NOT need this part if you purchase the ZZP WizAir system.

Id start with intake, Downpipe, Catback, Tuned PCM, Headers,Throttle Body,Cams so on....Im here so ill answer all i can

Ok, So I think I'll hold off on the turbo for now, I would like to buy a ready made intake, Not the DIY's lol. Can you link me to some of your recommendations? for the intake, Downpipe, and Catback. Unless you think the wizaired is really great for intake.

The DIY intake is very simple but here ya go with links.

From www.naioa.com
and grape

ENGINE MODS:

Cold Air Intake Kits:

-Homemade FWI (fenderwell intake) How-To:
http://home.centurytel.net/grandprix/fwi/

-NAIOA FWI:
NAIOA shop is currently not selling these, but we are working out getting them back in the store. Expect them before the end of 2008.

-MMS FWI:
www.MilzyMotorSports.com

-ZZP WizAired Intake:
http://www.zzperformance.com/g.....;catid=113
Make sure to specify that it is for the 3.4L
WizAir Install Instructions: http://www.easyperformance.com....._Rev_B.pdf

Reminder: When installing a FWI, you will need to secure the PCM to the car's frame so it wont move around. You can either use ZipTies for this or grab yourself a PCM Tray. GM Part #: 15995679
You will NOT need this part if you purchase the ZZP WizAir system.

PCM (Power Control Module) or "Chip":
READ: PLEASE contact each seller via email with questions regarding specific settings done to the PCM.

EXHAUST:

ALL W-BODY EXHAUST KITS SHOULD fit. As stated before, please research further for more information on this. We are not responsible for any mistakes made by misconceptions.
This is mostly all personal preference. If your planning on modding further than just an intake, NAIOA suggests to upgrade to 2.5” piping, up from the stock, 2.25” piping. 3" piping is possible, but we do not recommend it unless you are going FI (forced induction). You will lose too much backpressure.

We recommend listening to our exhaust sound database or searching through the posted threads in this section to see what you like.
Exhaust Sound Database: http://www.naioa.com/v2/module.....amp;t=4677

WHATEVER you choose, make sure you get the "u-bend" delete done. It is a "U" shaped bend in the pipe directly after the catalytic converter. This not only will give you a few HP, but increase air flow.
PLEASE SEARCH through these threads in this section to find more information on this subject.
Click this link below to see a picture of the "Ubend" we are talking about.
http://www.pfyc.com/pc/WB5001/.....ement.html
An exhaust shop should be able to do this for you for under $50.

You may also decide to remove the stock resonator. This part is specifically designed to reduce the interior "drone" that you will hear inside the car while driving. If you are not worried about the noise level INSIDE the car, then you may opt to remove this. it will free up the exhaust a tad bit and make the exhaust note louder.

Downpipe Section (DP) / High-Flow CAT Upgrade:
READ: Buying this downpipe section incorporates the infamous Ubend delete already and adds a higher flowing Magnaflow Catalytic Converter.

-Magnaflow High-flow CAT:

Get rid of that U-Bend first. Free mod that will add about 5 hp. Do that first before ANYTHING
