I am looking ,for my son, at a 2004 Impala with 140,000 on it. I can look at the carfax. I am buying it from a dealer. What major maintainace repairs should I look for in the carfax. What major repairs do you see coming after 140,000 ? It is a nice car with leather, moonroof, 6 cyl.
Any comments would be appreciated, I am afraid with this mileage it is at the end of its useful life.

 

Which V-6 does it have in it?? If it has the 3.4 I would personally stay away but if it has the 3.8 then its life is only half over. We had an 04 that had 140,000 put on it by the time it was two years old and never had a problem with it other than the cigarrette lighter in the front quitting, but thats common

 

Intake gasket is a big problem.
