I was on another forum that specializes with Chevrolet Volts. These was a recent post that came up about OnStar 3G service supplied through Verizon will only work until 12/31/20 as Verizon was dropping 3G CDMA service. The other members were wondering if any info has been released about the possibility of upgrade kits being provided to upgrade the 3G OnStar equipped vehicles to 4G. When my 2001 Impala had this type of conversion performed back in the 2000's, we needed to purchase a multi-year OnStar subscription. The OnStar was then upgraded to digital at the dealer. Since my 2014 Impala is 3G equipped, I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the same type of deal since at the end of next year, the OnStar in in my Impala would stop working.
