Default Rear brake light still on after brake booster replacement

Hello I just replaced my brake booster on my 2008 Chevrolet Impala and the rear brake lights still illuminate when I take my foot of the brake. It pushes down and up normally. Can I get an explanation please thanks.

The brake lights have nothing to do with the break booster, but with the brake light switch that is usually tied to the pedal. I would check that switch. Are you 100% sure the pedal is coming all the way up? The switch is usually beside or behind the the pedal mechanism up under the dash, and is actuated by pressing the pedal.
