Question steering wheel shift buttons 13 imp

I asked about this on another forum and so far we haven't come up with any solutions..

I have a hard time chasing the wheel shift buttons while on mountain roads to shift up and down ....

Is there an easy fix to somehow get the buttons in your right hand [the hand that we shift with in the U.S.].. and off of the wheel...

Buy a 14 and up. That's easiest.

I looked on google and found nothing.

It appears to be something that hasn't been done.

Buy a helm's manual, and hack into the system, and create some sort of shift pad and stick it somewhere on the right.

This link may or may not work. if not, just search for 2013 impala

This will have electrical diagrams and stuff... mostly for diagnosis.

It would probably be a PITA to disconnect everything and feed the wires out backwards and try to mimic the signals. I'm not an electrician... maybe you are.

i've done everything on my cars......up until this one.........i don't think i'll mess with it.........

if that button isn't a plug in..........it wouldn't be worth the hassle...........wouldn't it be great if you could unplug it and run an extension........

I guess.

Mine's located on the shifter top.. a lot of reviewers complain it's a bad location blah blah blah because the stick is in the lowest position and you have to put your arm on the arm rest.

I wonder what those reviewers would say in your situation.

Myself - I prefer it on the top of the stick.. not sure I would like the side mounting on the stick at this point in time.

i would be happy if it was anywhere near the shifter........as long as i could leave my hand on it and use it exactly when i wanted.......oh well.....i'm glad someone enlightened them for 2014........

i remember the 57 mercury had pushbuttons on the left side in the dash.........at least they were stationary ;-)
