02 Malibu won't start
Malibu won't start. Same symptoms as a faulty Theft system but this time no theft system light is on. Could it still be the theft system?
car cranks, once it coughed and gave a good effort but not again. No fuel pump noise. I have tried the 10-minute wait and still no start. Has anyone else tried the toggle switch on the ignition wire?

I've heard about fuel pump issues several times. If the theft system was activated I would imagine that the light would come up. I am almost positive it does, but I cannot say for sure.
The fact that it started and then coughed makes it sound like there is an issue with the fuel pump. It probably used whatever was left in the lines and when it didn't have anything left it shut off. Check the fuses to make sure none are blown, that specifically of the fuel pump fuse.
