Default '07 LS, how to give it some pep?

Well I like my '07 Mally but the 2.2L just doesnt cut it. I would like to give it a bit more power. Not looking to make it a race car but improve its performance by a bit. Driving it is boring and the motor is weak. Passing vehicles on the highway is a challenge.

I'm thinking about a cold air intake and maybe all new exhaust. I do not want my Malibu to sound like a POS civic. Anyone done anything to their 2.2L Malibu's? Tips or help would be appreciated.

Also would a 2.2L Malibu be able to take the S/C from the cobalt SS?

No the SS uses a 2.0 Im sure with enough screwing around it would work, but for the price take you LS back and upgrade to an LT or LTZ, in a new 09 with the 3.6, prolly cost about the same.

the 2.2 is 141hp or something like that, so to spend $$ on CAI nad exhast to get an extra 10 hp is it worth it..drive it, learn, trade it and get a bigger engine next time

I would suggest saving your money...in a few years, get a Cobalt SS turbo. Now that, my friend, will move you wherever you need to be real quick.

Yup...what they said. Years ago I said I'd never get another 6 (for damn sure not a 4 banger) and now look what I drive. Tune it or chip it, might help. Be thankful for cheaper insurance and enjoy it any way you can.
