Default 07 Malibu MAXX Heater issue

this has never been a huge issue to me (mostly as I live in a hotter part of the country), but the heater does not get hot when engine is idling. At 1.5k RPM, hotter than ever need... By the time I noticed, the BtB warrenty was over (car currently has 68k miles) and, like I said earlier, not really an huge issue for me.

Weird, since its an 07 I doubt the heater core is clogged up and preventing flow & your coolant alarm would signal if it was low. Have you had any coolant problems at all in the past? Well if you dont use it and everything is fine, like you said "dont worry about it" unless its causing other problems, but yea it would bug me too, I would have to find out why. Good luck!, maybe someone else here can provide better info.

The water pump was replaced about a month ago for a leak, but that didnt affect the issue.. I notice it when sitting at a red light (or drive thru) for a prolonged period..

Its like a bypass isnt switching over till 1k RPM or so.. I can keep my foot on the gas (in park) at about 1.5k RPM and it will heat you out of the car.. Its more an annoyance than anything, but thought since I was here, I would ask.
