09' Malibu AC drain location
I am trying to locate and clear any possible clog of my AC drain , ( musty/mold odor from vents and no visible signs of drainage beneath vehicle after ac use ). I checked on-line info and got underneath vehicle and on passenger side of firewall could only find a large circular grommet where a line comes into the center but line seems to be attached to some sort or actuator and where the line attaches to the grommet it is flanked by two holes. Reaching down from the engine compartment these two holes seem to be solid rubber material. I don't want to go poking anything into some place where I could do some harm. A picture of the drain would be helpful or a more positive description of the location would be greatly appreciated
Look under the dash on the right side close to the glove box, open the glove box it may help locate the fan motor. If yun have trouble finding it, turn the blower on will help locate it. The drain is located in the housing to the left of the motor.
You might check YouTube.com and search for the problem. Good luck.

To David ; thanks for your input. I must not have let the AC run long enough but I used my wife's 09' Malibu this morning and the AC drain had plenty of water flowing so I took you up on your suggestion and found on u-tube a simple way of cleaning out the air intake and spraying Lysol into the intake and also the interior vent to kill any mold and hopefully the musty odor. Thanks again for your input and since the drain is working I'm going to try to take a picture of the drain from beneath the car and post it at my earliest convenience.......Jim J..
Well here are the best pictures I could take. The best plac to view is from the top passenger side. In the first picture if you look real hard just underneath the heat shield you'll see a tiny white cap at the end of the drain. As a reference, in the second picture you'll notice that same white cap in the top left hand corner of the picture . I hope this helps anyone else trying to locate the AC drain. P.S. , spraying Lysol into the outside air intake and inside vents solved the musty mold odor when first starting the car and turning on the AC.

In the pictures are you refering to the back plug with the white thread tip sticking out as the ac drain because I’ve tried taking that off and no success with any drainage
