Default '11 Malibu Poor Radio Reception

Just bought an '11 Chevy Malibu 2LT. I seem to have quite a bit of static when listening to the radio, but only FM and AM. XM seems to be working fine, as far as I can tell, though I don't have anything to compare it to since its the only car with XM. Has anybody else noticed a similar issue or know how to solve the problem?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Static on AM is to be expected but FM should be better and XM, the best. Make sure you don't have anything interfering with the AM/FM antenna located on the rear window, above the defogger grid.

Vishaal Patel,

I am sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue with your vehicle. Did you speak with your dealership to have them look at your vehicle?

Thank you!

Default 2011 Malibu with bad radio reception...

I have a 2011Malibu and the stock stereo works just fine but Iinstalled an aftermarket PA PTID- 8300NR 8.3" and now the radio stations sound like crap. The dvd, cd, usb, sd card, and the av input sound just fine. I bought a Car Radio FM Signal Amplifier Booster Reception and that just boosts the sound on the radio rather than improve the reception. When I installed the new stereo I also used the AD-CR1 40-CR10 AFTRMARKET RADIO TO 2002-UPANTI have checked the window antenna connections in the rear and they are both connected. Like I said it does work just fine with the stock stereo. I also called the techs at chevy and they dont have a clue. Anybody have any ideas???
