20 Malibu LT Hot Air on Driver, Cold Passenger, Weak Airflow
Hello everyone,
I encountered an issue randomly when starting my car one morning. Upon turning on the heat, regardless of the airflow setting (defrost, front, feet), the driver's side warms up while the passenger side remains cold. When adjusting the airflow between settings, I can hear the air moving to each area, but overall it's minimal, especially when multiple settings are selected. For instance, when both defrost and front are on, defrost has the most airflow, while the front has minimal, just enough to detect warm air. The passenger-side airflow is greater than the driver's side but remains cold.
I checked the blend door actuator on the backside of the passenger glovebox, and it is turning when I adjust the dial to hot/cold, yet there is no change in heat. I performed a heater core flush on a whim, but there was no improvement. I also tried resetting the HVAC control module by pulling the fuse but I suspect that the actual gate directing the air might be broken, but I can't find any diagrams indicating its location. Does anyone think this might be the issue at this point? Any advice is appreciated, as I'm eager to learn more about the car's HVAC system.
Thank you for your time, and God bless.
