Default 2004 Malibu - howt o disconnect trans cooler lines to radiator

Hello all,

For changing out transmission fluid in my car, I have already dropped the pan, cleaned the magnet, and replaced the gasket (I got approx. 8 quarts of trans fluid out of the car).

--> Regarding the fluid in the torque converter, how do I disconnect the cooler line that goes from the transmission to the radiator?

The cooler lines look something like this:

Transmission case --> steel tube --> rubber tube --> steel tube --> radiator

The steel tube joins to the radiator through, what looks like, a rubber washer, and a "thin" nut (looks kind of like a jam nut).

--> How do I disconnect the transmission line from the radiator?

Thanks for your help!

the "rubber washer" is a cover, slide it back away from the radiator and there will be a little clip that holds the line in, just take a small pick or screwdriver and dig the clip out then pull.
