Angry 2005 power steering problem

while driving home the power steering just quit. is there a fuse or relay

No fuse or relay it is not electric at all. Most likely all the fluid leaked out.

i started the car and now the power steering is ok, yes i found out the fuse is 80 amp in location 41, it is for sure electronic not a pump and may be the power steering control module. i believe the control module will throw a code if its a problem but the electric steering motor would not. have to see if it does this again as it is for sure a safety issue.

Yes, most of the Epsilon platform Malibu's, 2004-2008 have electric power steering (no pump or fluid). The SS models were an exception, and maybe a few others towards the end of the run.

Man I guess I have not seen a Malibu in the shop in a long time. They must be good cars.
