2006 Malibu LTZ Boot noise
I have a rubbing noise coming from the front driver side of the car when i turn the wheel. Upon inpection it appears the boot on the strut is loose and turning when the wheel is turned. Does this require replacement of the strut or can it be repaired without replacement. What is the cause of this?
if the strut looks wet then its leaking and needs to be replaced, a spongy squish like sound when you hit bumps would hint toward that as well. Just going through that with mine - struts arent cheap either - cheapest I can find is $150 a piece and thats from a chevy dealer, Napa was MORE expensive than the dealer, which blows my mind.
the rubber boot thing is just meant to keep dirt and stuff out of there, is no big deal u should be able to slide it back on thoguh
