2013 Malibu LT keys stuck in ignition; won’t start
The problem is similar to what some Equinox users have described. I parked the vehicle in a parking lot and got my keys out. Upon returning to it 30 minutes later, I noticed the car wouldn’t respond to the key fob but the doors were unlocked. It probably had stopped responding the moment I had gotten out. When I put the keys in and turned it, the car won’t start. No lights come on at all and the key is stuck in the ON position. The car won’t switch into gear unless I lift the transmission cover and stick a screwdriver in the shift override. I’ve taken a look under the transmission cover; no signs of liquid spill or physical obstructions inside. I was able to remove the keys using a screwdriver in the little hole under the steering column. Had the tow truck come out and do a Voltage check on the battery; 12.1 Volts, so it’s not a battery issue. Got it towed to the local Chevrolet dealership. Hoping they will be able to fix this for cheap. 🤞🏽
