Default 2022 Chevy Malibu LT no start no crank

So I went to drop off my son at daycare, which is 10 minutes away came back a few hours later the car doesn’t crank doesn’t start. I believe it’s the starter however, when I went to jumpstart it, it still would not crank. Could this just be a bad battery and not given enough enough amps. We did buy a starter, which I’ll be installing tomorrow. I’m just concerned that the battery is bad stupid cold weather.

Welcome to Chevy. If it was just a battery, I would think it could be jump started. Give us some details - what are dash lights/guages doing, when you go to start do you hear anything at all?

After I have pressed the start button, I do see the voltage go down, but it goes up and I do hear one click. On the dash all I see is the check engine light. Radio works still also.

You might start by unhooking and cleaning & re-tightening your battery cables before starter replacement. And get battery load tested as well. I assume that's original battery??
