Actuator 2 sec rattle on cold start
Hello,
My daughter just bought a 2011 Malibu LTZ.
Beautiful car in mint condition. Timing codes indicated new timing kit was necessary and we knew that when purchased. That’s done & runs smooth.
Actuator rattle on 70% cold starts. As soon as oil pressures up, rattle stops. About 2 seconds.
Dealer quotes 900$ to change the two on the side where they can hear the rattle.
Anyone have their actuators changed? Did the problem get rectified? And not come back over time? I ask cause this is a problem with many vehicles that I’ve researched on the Internet. Honda has a big problem cause once replaced still rattled as it’s a faulty part. Does GM have this problem? Or is it a permanent fix when done?
Thoughts anyone? Advice ?
thanks
