Theft system light problems!
Hello, I have a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu and my theft system light was saying solid and my ignition switch was going out due to me having to try to turn it over multiple times in order for the car not to think I was stealing it sometimes it would take 20 to 30 minutes for it to finally engage and for the fuel pump to kick on. Other times it would finally start up right away but then die a little bit later and the stuff system might continue to stay solid so I bought a brand new ignition switch which said it would fix the problem. I had my mechanic install the switch and follow , the reset sync to your computer of your car rules and regulations that I found online. Were you 10 minutes and the light should turn off and cycle through three times for a total of 30 minutes, but the light is still solid with my new ignition switch. It still takes forever for me to think it’s not being stolen. I need help to know what to do next so I am highly frustrated. I want to be able to go in my car. Turn the key and start her. she’s a great car. I put a lot of work into her and she has a great engine low mileage for her age. Any advice please please would help , thank you
maybe instead of telling the mechanic how to do his job, you ask him to "fix my car so that it starts reliably every time" and let him do it, and don't accept the car back until it works. If he's not capable, then he's not a real mechanic and you need to find a more competent/skilled one.

did you replace the passlock sensor? Try another key?
This is the correct reset procedure: https://charm.li/Chevrolet/2000/Mali...mming%2FLearn/
If it still doesn't work then run a full system diagnostic.
