'03 Monte Carlo LS - Growling Noise When Driving
At idle, engine sounds fine.
Accelerating through about 20 MPH, and this loud, sort of deep/bass growling noise starts. It "sounds" like it's coming from the left front.
It remains constant through the auto-shifting of gears, i.e. doesn't sound like it's related to the motor, and doesn't go away until I de-accelerating through approx 5 MPH, and is gone completely at idle. Slightly increases with speed increasse.. ie from 45 to 55 MPH, it will get higher in pitch slightly. (I think - lol)
I can drive it at 15 - 20 MPH with no sound at all.. once it starts to get above that, it "kicks" in.
Any ideas before I take it to a shop?
2003, Automatic with 60K on it.
Thanks!
