Default Chugging up hill...

Hi, I have a 98 Lumina with about 165,000 miles. I have no engine lights on. I've noticed for a long time when I'm going about 40mph and I'm going up a slight hill I can feel the engine chugging a lot or something. If I press on the gas hard to rev the engine it of course stops. Is this something I can fix easily? It's pretty annoying.
