Default 2002 Monte Carlo, not starting

We just bought a 2002 Monte Carlo for my son. It's been perfect for a month and suddenly today, it wouldn't start. There's clicking in the fuse box area, power locks will not work, all lights and radio are working, when the key is disengaged the gauges are erratic. What could be the most likely problem? (Battery and alternator are good)

does the starter crank? If not along with what you've posted, I'd say loose connection, or stater solenoid.

check the cables on the battery and get the battery tested, almost sounds like you have a dead battery

Default I am having same problem.

I have to disconnect positive side battery cable to get it to start. I do not know why though.
