Default 97 Lumina Fuel line o-ring?

I have a 97 3.1l Lunmina. Turn the key on and fuel comes gushing out of the fuel line/fuel rail connection, under the drivers side of the intake manifold, where the fuel line threads into the rear fuel rail. My question is; is there supposed to be an o-ring at that connection where the line threads into the rail? Because mine is missing one if there is. If not then I suppose that either the fuel liine, or the rail is warped from engine heat. But I'm betting there's a o-ring there. I can't iimagine GM not putting a o-ring there. Anybody know?

I just Googled "1997 fuel line" and found a parts place that has a picture of a metal fuel line with a steel nut and it does show an o ring at the end of the tube.

Yes it did. And I replaced it as it had flattened out over time. Had the local autoparts store match one up for about $1.50. Also put on new intake plenum and EGR valve gaskets. Runs good after I had to replace the starter, where my son wore it out trying to start it, when it wouldn't start, because it wasn't getting any fuel!
