My '99 Monte Carlo Acts like it wants to fire and when it does it sits at a real low idle and then after about 2 sec. it dies, I thought maybe the fuel filter but it is getting plenty of fuel, and there is good spark, what could be the problem?
If it helps any it sounds like its gasping for air when it dies and if i pump the accelerator constantly it runs very rough andas soon as i let go it dies!

might this be a clogged fuel injecter? It only takes one to make you think you have a bad spark plug. But you would have noticed the rough performance before now. How long have you had this problem. Maybe somehow you got water in your gas... a long shot I know, but we're all trying to come up with suggestions. Your battery might not be providing enough crank amps as well. Are the posts corroded at all?
