Hello. My aunt has a 84 Suburban with 74K miles in Seattle; this truck was basically a grocery getter and that was it. She is looking to sell it to me for $1500 - $2000. I have a family of 4 and this would be the second "car" mainly for my wife and our 2 boys in Los Angeles for smaller trips. Planning on flying up to Seattle and driving the beast back.

I am just wondering if there have been any issues/disadvantages with the 84 Suburbans besides the obvious like the gas mileage. I want something dependable and safe for my family but not sure if i should spend a bit more and get something newer. I love this truck though and if maintenance is not much of an issue than why not.
