Is there a trick to getting the **** off?</P>


I Just purchased a1987Cavalier Station Wagon to use asa work vehicle while I try to sell my 95 tahoe 4x4 (good luck...right?) </P>


Anyway, the shifter button is not pushing down the release mechanism far enough to be able to shift it. I cant figure out how to get the shifter **** off. There is a slot in the front that looks like a release pin for the **** but it wont slide in when pushed with a screw driver. </P>


Any help is appreciated.</P>

 

There is a little c shaped clip and you can pull it out with a pic or a small screwdriver. Once the clip is out the shifter **** should just pull off.</P>
