Hello from Orlando, FL
Well, umm, hello
Own a '70 Nova 6 cyl, bone stock. Except for a cherry bomb
Joined the forum because I am having trouble with one of our shop trucks.
A 98 Suburban won't start after replacing teh notorious intake manifold gasket. Our shop works on import sportscars, so we have no books or extensive skills on american iron
I've become "intimate" with my Nova however. New pistons and such. And I have worked on various different cars for 20 years. Mostly european and japanese cars.
I'm an ASE certified tech, soon to find out if I passed my latest tests which would make me a master tech. For whatever that's worth
(A raise, says my boss)

Welcome Jan. To become proficient at anything to the point of becoming "master" is a big deal. Electricians, plumbers and others respect that title, me too. And ASE ain't no slouch outfit either. Hope you get it and wear it proud, you earned it.
Hi Gwampa.
I sure hope I passed them all. I had 3 previously, and I registered for the remaining 5... I knew they'd split them up across the 2 days of testing time allocated, but didn't expect them bastids to give me 1 and 4. One test on the first day, and four on the second. They give you 4 hours to complete whatever you are taking. 4 hours for one test or 4 hours for 4 tests. Each test is 50-60 questions, so that's about 1 minute per question I had for day 2. Argh. I'd be surprised if I passed them all. I was a total zombie when I got out, just before midnight. And many of those questions are TOUGH. Like first you need to study a complex wiring diagram that takes up almost a whole page and then you need to understand the question, and then find the right answer. I've got a bad feeling about this...
Oh well. I can always try again later.

LOL
I seriously thought I had failed at least one if not more, I had to rush the last 2 tests without thinking.
Hmm. Shows how much my thinking is worth huh
Now how to approach my boss about a raise, since he gave me one yesterday already... $50/week. Hmm.
