Default New From Puget Sound Region

Hi, all. I am a new member but I am older. I have several vehicles and am restoring one right now. My Chevy is my K2500 Silverado Extended Cab. I bought it new in 1994. I have poured plenty of money into it for Recaro seats, extensive audio system (working on that some more right now), modifying the rear seat to elevate it to take a larger sub woofer enclosure, sound proofing in the floor and walls and doors, and the truck was removed from the frame and media blasted and repainted the OEM Arctic White and original pin stripe art work (originally it was done by an artist for the Chevy dealer - I used the same artist to repaint it), and military art work on the tail gate. It has a modified original 454 with Aluminum Edelbrock heads, custom built roller rocker assemblies, roller high torque curve camshaft, Edelbrock headers and a modified exhaust system. Then tuned on a rolling chassis dynomometer for maximum torque. I use my truck mostly for hauling and towing a large Wells Cargo trailer.

I am in the process of completing a 40 x 40 workshop that will have a full bath, heat, utility sinks and washer/dryer hookups. Possibly a dog kennel for Dalmatians. I will be building a TPI 502 to drop into my truck once the shop is done. Will use a Chevy/GM Performance 502 blueprinted block and put my existing heads on that new block. I will remove the front of the truck so I can detail the firewall and do some painting, etc. of the engine compartment. Probably going to consider removing the frame to restore and rebuild suspensions/diffy/trans since we did not restore that when I did the new paint on the truck It has low miles, abut 110,000.

Why do I still have this truck? Why not buy a new one with nicer features? Well, I like this one. It drives just like a car but it has great ground clearance if I want to go off road or drive in snow, and it is paid for. It has Recaro seats and a super nice custom audio system and I can drive it all day every day if I want. And I like the sound and power of the Rat Motors, and you can't get one in a new truck.

Welcome to the forums friend. Hopefully you can find anything you need in the wealth of knowlege that's contained within the pages here, if not just post a new thread.

Welcome from Florida. Sounds like a real nice truck. Post some pictures of it.
