Howdy,
Just joined the forum....thought I'd say hello.
All my life, I've wanted a 4x4...but family and career and too little time and money, just seemed to get in the way. But a couple weeks ago, I stumbled on to a deal I couldn't pass up....a 1984 Silverado 4x4. It's a beautiful looking truck that was well taken care of. The owner stopped driving it a couple years ago and it's been parked in a dilapidated shed all this time. I paid $500 for it...had it towed on a flatbed and gave it a bit of a tuneup. It started right up and I drove it around the block. It has a transmission problem....won't go into 3rd gear, but I've studied a bit and figure it needs a valve body tuneup, some fluid, and a TV cable adjustment. We'll see. So anyway...there's a good chance I might need some advice from an all-knowing group....so here I am. Thanks for having me.
John

Ah yes....Pics. I reckon I could take some pictures tonight and post them. It would be the first documented "Before" pictures.
'Course then, knowing me....the "after" pictures won't look much different.![EEK!](https://chevroletforum.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Thanks for the nice welcome.

Ok...here's 5 pics of my new project. It's got some surface rust and plenty of little odds and ends that need attention. Most of its problems are related to sitting for 2 years in a damp shed. I didn't need any more stuff to do....but....we live once. ![Wink](https://chevroletforum.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Daily ride? Nope...don't think so. Not at these gas prices and considering how far I drive to work. Nope....I figger it's just going to be a local, 'round town, haulin' kinda truck. Plus, I won't have to worry about next year's blizzards!!
