Default Should I buy??

Hey everyone,

I joined here to do a little research and decide whether or not I should buy a 2000 Silverado 1500 Z71- 5.3L Vortec. It has 190,000 on engine with only 1000 miles on rebuilt tranny. Has a 40,000 tranny warranty as well.

In the effort of full disclosure, my grandfather was a mechanic for Ford and my Father is a Ford man, so please don't hold it against me haha

Anywho, the guy is asking $3600 and I'm just not sure about the mileage. NADA and KBB seem in line with that, in fact KBB said $4400 Fair, but still.
I'm leaving in about 30 minutes to check out the truck and do a run through, but even it comes out fine; I'm still a bit leary. Hope to learn something... Off to the search bar.

Price seems okay. High miles but if it was maintained well it'll be OK. If it wasn't maintained well, you're in for a world of hurt.

Can you get a mechanic you know and trust to inspect the truck before you buy it?

Also, what do you intend to use the truck for?
