Hey everyone, I’m pretty stumped on this one. I have a 1989 g20 with the 4.3 v6 about 90k miles. On cold start runs perfect and smooth. As it warm up a rattling noise starts to appear from the front of the engine. After a long drive this noise is quite intense. The only way I would describe the noise is metal clatter, almost like someone’s under the hood banging on a pulley with a socket extension. It’s not a rod knock sound or a lifted tap. I tried to isolate the noise today and it seems like it’s coming from the crank pulley/timing chain area. Anyone have any ideas?
