I have a 88 chevy g10 van with the 700r4 tranny. The van was parked in our backyard for about 6 years and one day my dad was curious so we started tinkering with it, like a chevy it sparked right up after 6 years, well 5 years down the rode and the van is now mine ive been using as a daily driver. The van runs great but its been giving me problems shifting for the past couple of months. It will stay in 1st and not shift up unless i mash the pedal and redline shift it, on some days it shifts like new and gets overdrive, on others i have to drive with a lead foot to get it to shift. I constantly check my fluid levels and i have also ran lucas tranny oil through it. the 88 was the 1st year of fuel injection so i dont think its the t.v cable linkage. Any tips would be apprieciated the van wont have an ls for a few years so i need all the life i can get from her. Thank you.
