need help with my 1988 chevy truck

Default need help with my 1988 chevy truck

i got a 1988 chevy short bed 4x4 350 and i cant fix the problem! its relly doggy on power dont hold a good idle and the exhaust keeps getin cherry red! o and so far i put new tps idle and air control sensor in it and a new fuel pump and checked the timing o and one more thing going down the road has no get up and go relly slow and once it hits 45 its relly doggy

check your cataltic converter }could be plugged .

X2 tooo short message......... yea CC If it is the CC, these things have precious metals in them. Take it to a scrap dealer.

possibly incorrect timing advance

and/or clogged exhaust system.

you will have to remove the exhaust to check.

Catalytic converters become clogged because of something else going wrong. Either too much fuel being dumped, contaminants in the fuel, etc....

If the cat is glowing red, it probably needs replacement because it has gotten so hot that the catalyst may have melted into a lump or the ceramic portion may have cracked.

As stated, you need to drop the pipe(s) in front of the cat(s) to see how the engine performs. If needed, replace the cat(s), but be prepared to check the truck out right away in case the components you replaced were not the cause.
You wouldn't want to mess up a new cat!
