Default 01 chevy blazer 4wd replaced the tranny BUT please read on

I replaced the transmission put everything together. Took it off the ramps worked great. Than was gonna put it back on the ramps a couple minutes later so i thought id check out 4 wd lo went into 4wd lo fine did what i had to do. I put it in 2hi and now you have to push the gas pedal down quite far for it to get going. Not in reverse tho reverse takes off good put forward it doesn't any ideas of what could be doing this?

yes it can. also, when you replaced trans, did you replace the torque converter as well? or at least fill the converter with fluid before re-installing?

No i bought the tranny from a junkyard with low miles on the veicle it came from it was working good on that blazer but that blazer got into an accident so insurance wrote it off so it came to me with the torque converter in place. so no i didnt preffill it i thought it would fill on its own?

the front pump on trans can fill it but it's best to fill converter first. if you didn't, then the way to get converter full is to start rig and let it idle for 5-10 min, then run thru the gears, stoppin in neutral or park after each gear. let it sit in each gear for couple mins before switching. drop the pan, change filter if you haven't already, put new fluid in, then start rig and let it idle for a bit, then run gears as stated above. this may or may not help tranny. hopefully damage hasn't been done.
