Default 1996 Blazer Engine change

Hey guys,i need some help bad! i have a 96 blazer with a 4.3 in it. had a rod knocking in it. so i decided to change the engine. i changed the engine and put in another 4.3 engine. but i think i did something wrong? with the key out of the ignition when i hooked the battery up all the dash gauge lights come on? it will start and run but will not shut off with the key and runs really rough??? i changed the computer with the one that went with the engine i put in. the dealer told me that would fix it but it didnt?? Could the starter have a short in it?? PLEASE HELP????? thanks, matt

Sounds like a wiring issue, go back and check all of the wiring you did. Check to make sure everything is in its proper place, that nothing is unhooked or hooked up incorrectly, grounded improperly.......

probably have a wire shorted to power that feeds the ignition circuit

It might be better just to take it to a shop then. Nobody wants to hear that, but sometimes it is just better to let a professional handle it.
