Default 1998 4.3 S10 No crank, no fuel

Hello,

I have an 1998 S10 4.3 which was running fine, until the key cylinder switch broke and we could not turn the truck off because if would not move back towards OFF. We would have to take out the IGN fuse to turn it off and put it back on so I could start it back. It was starting just fine. I got it home and replaced the key cylinder switch. In the process, while the switch was out... I stupidly decided to see what would happen if I tried to turn it on with a screwdriver... Security light came on. Tried a couple time and suddenly the top row of lights in the cluster turned off. Decided to stop messing with it... and put in the new key cylinder switch. Now when I go to turn it on, the top row of the cluster does not come on, no security light, no nothing except battery light which is on every-time I put the key in. Odometer and Shift PRNDL show fine. Fuel pump does not try to come on and the truck does not crank.

Checked battery, it's good. Radio and lights turn on, everything is solid.
Checked fuses, they seem good. I have no power to IGN A, IGN B and IGN C fuses, though I am unsure if they should have power with just the key on.

Want to try the passlock relearn in case thats the problem... but since security light does not come on, I am at a loss at what to do.

Please help, I need to get it to start.

Is it a pellet key? With new switch installed, and appropriate key, turn ignition switch to on, leave it that way for 20 minutes, and without turning the key switch off, go to start.

No, it is not a pellet key. I will try this method nevertheless.

Changed ignition switch along with its wiring, that solved the problem. Looks like ignition switch was bad and I finished breaking it.

Thanks for the help
