1998 S10 2.2L Ignition Control Module
I have a '98 S-10, 2.2L, 5 speed. I turned the ignition off and went into a store, came back 3 min. later and the truck wouldn't start. It cranks, but I'm getting no fire, or fuel. I originally thought it was the fuel pump, replaced it, then to my surprise, wouldn't start. Upon further inspection, I found that I wasn't getting any fire, and no fuel. Checked the fuel relay, when you turn the key on, you can hear it "click". the enging will crank, but wont start. Could the ICM be the problem?
I have a 1998 chevy s10 2.2l that has a rough idle sometimes when I start it. It runs and drives fine most of the time except when I start it sometimes it has a rough idle and the lights and gauges are dime, but after I rev the engine for about 5 seconds at like 3 grand then the lights and gauges brighten up and the rough idle goes away. At first my dad and I thought it was pvc sucking in oil, but the engine have a valve cover vent only and after cleaning the oil out of the air box the first time and changing the spark plugs that is not the problem.
We are planning on changing the ignition coils and spark plug wires. I was just wondering if a weak spark would cause the engine to kind of jolt randomly when idleing and have a very hard time accelerating when pedal is pushed to the floor around 2000 rpm? It has some sort of a jolt when just idling at the same time every time, could that be caused by a weak spark coming from one of the ignition coils?

They are located on the frame rail on the passanger side. If you look against the frame rail above the front right wheel. Their should be two of them. I just replaced my coils.
Word of advice. Remove the front right tire so that you can reach the coils easier under the front fender. They will be side by side under the air intake on the frame.
And the spark plug wires run across the top of the engine, next to the air intake, and they under the intake manifold against the engine and then to the coils on the frame.
Good Luck!
