Default 2000 s10 blazer misfires on acceleration

Hello. I have a 2000 chevrolet s10 blazer 2 dr 4wd vortec 4.3 auto trans; vehicle is missing/stalling with moderate acceleration. Noticed battery light come on momentarily when this happens. Certain it is not fuel related, as I just replaced the fuel pump/filter recently. Not a cat problem, as I do not have one. No noticeable misfiring or stalling at idle or when revving up engine while in park or neutral. Thought it was strange that it would miss/stall while in gear and accelerating but not while in neutral/park and accelerating. Any ideas? Much obliged.

I would start with the plugs and wires.

Aye. Changed plugs/wires/rotor/cap/pcv/igignition coil to no avail. Problem ended up being the pigtail connector to the crankshaft position sensor. Good to go now.

I know this thread is pretty old but I sent you a PM LeviCGarrett. Just wondering exactly what you did with the pigtail connector to fix this.

Thanks

Your problem is probably with the crankshaft position sensor itself or as LeviCGarrett said the pigtail to the sensor. I noticed my truck would only do it when I had been driving for at least few hours and the truck was really hot. A GM tech also told me that if you get the truck nice and hot and put some water on the crankshaft position sensor it should cause it to stall as well but I never got a chance to try that.

Default CP Sensor

Hey guys - basically the pigtail connector to the cp sensor had developed a short, and the torque from putting the transmission in gear was moving the enging just enough to cause it to short out. Replaced the pigtail, sensor was fine, problem resolved. One more thing in a long line of defects! Too much $$$ in this thing to even get rid of it now... just keeping it as a backup. Hope this helps!

I'm just curious where you found a new pigtail. I can't find an aftermarket one at local part stores. I'm finding that I have 12v at power wire good ground and only power to signal wire when there is pressure on the plug. Mine is bad enough for a crank and no start condition
