2.2 01 ext cab s10 4l60e is it normal that wen cruising around 40-50 mpg tcc locked and i let off the gas real suddenly and i see a 300rpm increase before the rpm starts dropping down i havent noticed this before is this just the rpm from the tcc unlocking? and is it normal? thanks

 

yes, it is normal for engine rpm to increase a few hundred rpms when tcc unlocks. if you notice when you are driving and tranny shifts into fourth, there is an rpm drop as converter locks up. as long as there is no shudder, or constant lock/unlock on its own, then its fine.
