Default 91 4.3l lifter noise

i have a 1991 s10 pickup with a 4.3l v6 that has developed a lifter noise. i am pretty certain thats what the noise is. i need to know if i can adjust the valve lash on this and what the specs are. i have no experience with this particular motor but have quite a bit with older gm v-8 engines. any help would be greatly appreciated

if you know anything about the sbv8 then you can aply it to the 4.3 cuse all it is is a v8 wit 2 cylenders cut off. the hynes manual shoult have all the specs on valve lash that u need.

i think if i remeber corectly the last time i did it i was told that if u ajust them till u cant move them any then back off 1 half turn they should be very close to the right spot.

thanks, ihave removed the valve cover and the rocker is very loose at tdc. anybody know if it has solid or hydraulic lifters? the nut on the rocker does not appear to have backed off at all. also, if it is hydraulic, is it possible to tell if the lifter is bad without removing the intake manifold? thanks
