Default C10 carb problem

After an overhaul of my Rochester Varajet 2 carb my pick up will not tick over and the revs Are fluctuating badly reving way up and down and if you don’t keep your foot on the throttle it will cut out all vacuum pipes have been replaced any help would be great!

Welcome from Florida. Sounds like you have a vacuum leak.

Thanks that was suggested before but all pipes are new when you look in the port of the carb you can see the fuel being injected in then it revs up without touching the throttle?

Throttle adjustment? Make sure the the cable to carb isn't binding, also check the idle stop. One hing that theses have issue with is base gasket, is this a thick gasket, and make sure not to overtighten the carb bolts.

thanks for that yes base gasket is a thick one there is actually 2 with a heat shield between but I might have over tightened as I did rack them up!! I have another new gasket so will try changing and not making too tight 👍
