Chevy S10 (4.3L) wont drive past 25-30mph. Just revs at that point.

My 2000, Chevy S10 (4x4, 4.3L) will not drive past 25-30mph. Once it hits that speed range, it just revs-up. Any ideas or thoughts?

May be the transmission. Try driving it with the selector in 3 and then 4 and see if it still happens.

a way to check the catalytic converter is to remove the upstream O2 sensor. this should let it "breath" a little more and might clear up the issue

You need to drop the transmission pan and change the filter and clean it out. I had a problem with this for awhile. Check for metel shavings in the filter and the fluid. Those metel flakes are plug it up.

Check to see if your gears are grinding together. Mine was the motor mount broke which caused alot of shaking of the transmission.
