Cut emergency brake release cable
I was hoping that someone could tell me if a cut emergency brake release cable could be the cause of my flashers, back up lights, or wipers to stop working? I've had the ignition and the wires in the turn signal lever replaced, but the fuses kept blowing. Then I noticed the brake release handle missing. It seems likely that would be the cause for the rest, but before I tear into it would like to hear from someone who knows about these things first as the manual doesn't discuss this. Thanks

There are a few possibilities that should be considered.
There is a shorted wire in the mentioned systems. The idea is to determine what that fuse protects aside from what you mentioned. , then look through them for any visual
possible rub through areas. You can find in your owner's manual what each fuse protects and check each system for a possible shorted /rubbed thru wire. The fuse is doing it's job and if allowed to continue could get expensive if the problem is not corrected.
Just noticed the time of the post is incorrect , can our Moderator look into this?

it’s a PARKING brake, not an emergency brake, but it can be used in an emergency.
You want to get that cable changed PDQ or sooner for a variety of reasons.
Yes, you can still operate your car. Auto or manual transmission? If auto, you can use the “P” in your transmission to park your car. Note that PARK is NOT meant to hold the weight of the vehicle on any incline, even though people do it. MUCH more wear and tear on your transmission. Ever have to yank hard to get it out of PARK? That’s money and metal you’re throwing away.
If a manual transmission, the PARK brake is your primary mechanism for holding the veh in place anywhere. You CAN leave your transmission in gear, but that is a backup and no guarantee your veh will stay in place if someone hits it.
