A few problems
Alright this has been a continuous thing and I can't really find the solution. I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma 2.2L. It started when I passed a truck on the interstate when I gunned the gas down a lil to go over about 65-70 thats when both my emergency brake and ABS lights came on. I went in and fixed the vacuum line hoses. Now I still get the rare case when my ABS lights come on though. The bigger problem came when I began to lose acceleration going up hills (now I have to push the pedal down far just to go 55) and I have heard knocking sounds under the hood on several instances.
The problem came to me today though when I parked my truck and tried to engage the emergency brake and it wouldn't go down until I pumped up my brakes although I'm not sure how that's connected. I've been stressing a lot lately because I'm not sure if all these problems are related or if there's a bunch of problems going on at once. If you can please help.

My brother has a 92 S-10 and this happend on his. (he didnt have ABS though) His problem was his fuel injectors were getting clogged as to why your having to put your foot down. although there are other reasons for that as well. but you should check the fuel injectors before you go spending money.
as for the brake lights he just had a short in his dash, so it was just the lights. but for you it sounds as if your brakes are actually having a problem. Have you checked the brake lines? also how do your regular brakes work? are they sluggish or responsive like they're supposed to be?
