Help with a tough decision
Gonna get a 4x4 S10. Had they not presented themselves 35min apart, I could've thought this out. One is 2002 ZR2 automatic, custom winch front bumper, appx. 174,000 and generally a solid clean truck. The other is 1991 ext cab 4.3 auto pretty good shape
with appx. 172,000. Both basically $3000. Y'all throw some experience and wisdom at me please, and lets see what sticks....Thanks...

If they haven’t already been provided, ask for thorough pictures of the frame, particularly the rear crossmembers that support the fuel tank and spare tire.
Even in areas where rust/corrosion doesn’t tend to be a problem, the crossmembers are known for rusting to the point of falling off. Dirt collects in the crevice between the tank and frame - water soaks into it and never completely dries out. Eventually it rusts away the lower part and just keeps working its way to the top.
On some trucks, at least one of the crossmembers is visible between the rear wheel and fender/wheel well on either side. It’s usually obvious if the rust is a problem by looking there.
