I can't seem to get my stater on my S-10 pickup out - do I need to pull the engine? I am sure there is a trick out there somewhere...

 

If it is anything like my 94 blazer there is some kind of support bar that runs to the bell housing you have to remove the bottom bolt of that and the starter can kind of squeeze out. It takes some work but can be done. You could also take a bolt out of the motor mount and lift the motor just a little bit and that could help.
