Default Lock into fulltime 4WD? 1999 Blazer

Hi everybody, my question involves a 1999 s10 4 door Blazer. It's got the 4 button selector for 4wd, and it's not giving me 4wd at all...this is a full dirtball, never-to-return-to-the-road rustbucket, so I'm free to do whatever I want to it.

After studying all the vacuum/switches/encoder stuff I can find, all I want is to lock it permanently into 4wd. The front axle is easy enough, but is it possible to shift the transfer case into 4HI and forget it? TIA!

I have mine locked into 4wd full time right now but it's only temporary. To get it into 2wd I pull the front driveshaft out until I can finish what I started. If your interested in how I did it I can make a post but it's was a lot of work.

I pulled off the actuator cable at the axle; the part where the cable was attached is now held engaged by two 5/8 machine collars
