I bought a 1999 Chevy Blazer LS ZR2 4x4. It did not come with a key fob. I am wondering if I can buy one online or if I should go to the dealship to order one? Then, is it something that I can program to work myself, or do I have to have the dealer use a scan tool to program it to work? Tryin' to save some money on the little things because I would like to make this a project truck.
If anyone can help, let me know?

 

I think in '99 it was dealer only, just to be sure i would check with like O'reilys, they have come along ways with key fobs in the last couple years

 

I just seen one for a 1999 S10 Blazer on Ebay. Item number 110464079263. Around $35 + shipping around 7 bucks.

 

i know you can have it programmed for nominal cost at the dealer. When i used to work there we would do that as a freebie to try to get your business.
